HAPPY FATHER’S DAY TO ALL THE FATHERS IN THE WORLD!!!

Father's Day, celebrated on the third Sunday of June in many countries, has a rich history that honors the role and contributions of fathers. The day originated in the United States in the early 20th century, inspired by Mother's Day, to recognize the vital role fathers play in families and society. The first Father's Day was celebrated in 1910 in Spokane, Washington, thanks to the efforts of Sonora Smart Dodd, who wanted to honor her father, a Civil War veteran who raised six children as a single parent. Over time, Father's Day has become an occasion to celebrate fatherhood, paternal bonds, and the influence of fathers in society. It underscores the diverse roles fathers play, from being providers and protectors to mentors and friends, shaping the values and futures of their children.

In many cultures, including those influenced by ancient Vedic traditions, the role of the father is revered and considered sacred. The Vedas, ancient Hindu scriptures, contain the phrase "sarvadevamyaha pita," which translates to "father is the embodiment of all deities." This quote signifies the profound respect and veneration for fathers, equating them with divine beings who embody all virtues and strengths. The Vedic teachings emphasize that a father's love, guidance, and discipline are crucial for the moral and spiritual development of their children. This deep-rooted cultural belief highlights the importance of fathers not only as caretakers but also as key figures in instilling ethical and spiritual values. Recognizing the historical and spiritual significance of fathers enriches the celebration of Father's Day, reminding us of the timeless wisdom that fathers are fundamental pillars of strength and virtue in both family and society.

The pencil drawing below I made in 2021 dedicated to my Awesome Dad whom I lost in 1991 and still miss him to this day!!!
