Exactly 17 years ago today on Memorial Day May 30, 2005 , I flew to St Louis to meet Seema for the first time. We had just met online few days prior on the dating website Shaadi.com Subsequently our second phone conversation was a 12 hour nonstop marathon . A day after that , I decided I must see this girl in person who is stealing my heart away so fast and flew to St. Louis.
Must I admit that It definitely was love at first sight . In the ensuing weeks , the Romantic Crazy in me led me to surprise her one day with 14 Dozen 🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹Red Roses ( 7 at her work place and 7 at her home ) . Seema realized this crazy guy is not going away and finally said yes when I proposed to her and the rest is history as we got married 2005 Labor Day weekend .
Life has been full of Laughter and Happiness, super busy and beautiful but at times this journey has been immensely demanding with our 14 year old Twins , our other 4 kids , 4 grandkids and three dogs. Truthfully, the unimaginable challenges of raising teenagers in this digital era ( you know the phones and social media ) have certainly overwhelmed us on many occasions sometimes bringing us to our knees . We will continue to embrace these challenges with poise , determination , patience and Love as we look forward to the next 17 years in our journey together. Inspite of all our numerous ups and downs , our commitment is steadfast and unwavering and we are grateful for the blessings from God, friends and family . We truly are super excited for a new chapter in our lives as our twins begin the prestigious St. Agnes Academy, a college Prep High School in August.
I thought of celebrating our 17th anniversary of meeting each other by dedicating the lyrics of the famous song “Where do I Begin “ from my favorite Oscar Winning movie Love Story (1970) sung by Andy Williams.
